Five Pillars of Community Impact
Each of our programs is designed to address a critical area of community need, working together to create holistic, lasting change.

South Side Youth Media & Opportunity Project
The South Side Youth Media & Opportunity Project equips young people to tell their stories, confront barriers, and use media to advance education, employment, and community change. Guided by a Youth Media Leadership Council of participating youth, the project investigates the barriers affecting young people on Chicago's South Side and transforms those findings into documentaries, podcasts, public-service announcements, and social-media campaigns that elevate youth perspectives and call community leaders to practical action.
- Youth Media Leadership Council that shapes issues, subjects, messaging, and campaign priorities
- Investigation of barriers: GED access, career exposure, unemployment, negative stereotypes, disinvestment, and pathways into tech and media careers
- Interviews with students, parents, educators, employers, and community leaders to document impact and surface solutions
- Studio production of short documentaries, interviews, PSAs, podcasts, and social-media campaigns
- Youth-led community media presentation and public conversation with families, educators, and workforce partners
